The Glow Guide

How to prep, protect, and keep your glow. The exact routine we walk every client through, now yours.

PART ONE · 24 TO 48 HOURS BEFORE

Your Glow Starts Before the Spray

1 · Exfoliate everything. 24 to 48 hours out, exfoliate head to toe with a mitt or an oil-free scrub. Fresh, smooth skin means an even glow and a slower, prettier fade. Extra attention to elbows, knees, ankles, and hands.

2 · Shave or wax early. Shave at least 24 hours before your appointment. Wax 48 hours before. Freshly opened pores can grab extra solution, so give your skin time to settle.

3 · Hydrate like it’s your job. Hydrated skin holds color longer and fades evenly. Drink your water and moisturize daily all week. Then stop the day of your tan.

4 · Arrive with bare skin. Day of: no lotion, no oils, no deodorant, no makeup, no perfume. Anything sitting on your skin creates a barrier, and barriers create patchiness. Clean, dry, bare.

5 · Dress for the glow. Loose, dark clothing and sandals to your appointment. Tight straps and waistbands can press lines into a fresh tan.

Most “bad spray tans” were actually bad prep. The solution can only work with the skin it lands on. Prep well and even the fade looks intentional.

PART TWO · THE FIRST 24 HOURS

Protect the Develop Window

1 · Wait to rinse. Your rinse time depends on your custom blend. We tell you your exact window at your appointment, so follow that over anything you read online. Until then: no water, no sweat, no exceptions.

2 · The first shower rule. First rinse is warm water only. No soap, no scrubbing, no loofah, no shaving. You may see color washing down the drain. Don’t panic. That’s just the cosmetic bronzer on top. Your real glow has already developed underneath.

3 · Pat, never rub. Out of the shower, pat yourself dry with a towel. Rubbing pulls color off high-contact spots first, and that’s how uneven fade starts.

4 · Skip the sweat session. Hold off on workouts, saunas, and hot yoga until after your first rinse. Our blends are built to be sweat-resistant for Florida life, but the develop window is the one stretch where sweat can still streak a tan.

Moisturize morning and night. This is the single biggest thing you control. Twice a day keeps skin hydrated, and hydrated skin fades slowly and evenly instead of going patchy at day four. Hydrating is easy with our After Glow Oil: tan-safe, made to lock in moisture and stretch your glow. Grab it at your appointment and your aftercare is handled.

2 · Shorter, cooler showers. Long hot showers, baths, and hot tubs speed up exfoliation, and exfoliation is fade. Keep showers quick and warm, not scalding.

3 · Pool and beach smart. Chlorine and salt water are exfoliants in disguise. Rinse off after swimming and follow with a layer of After Glow Oil. And yes, you still need sunscreen. A spray tan is not SPF, not even a little.

4 · Rebook at the right time. Most glows look their best through days 7 to 10. Booking your next tan about a week and a half out keeps you golden with no awkward in-between phase.

The short version: exfoliate before. Arrive bare. Protect the develop window. Moisturize like you mean it. That’s 90 percent of a perfect glow.
