Hydration Isn’t an Upgrade. It’s the Standard.

Here’s a trend on the Treasure Coast right now: studios adding a “hydration” option to the menu. An extra charge. A few drops in the bottle. A finishing oil at the end. Marketed to mature skin and dry skin, as if hydration is a special case for a special client.

We think that’s backwards.

A spray tan that isn’t hydrated is a spray tan that fades wrong. Patchy knees. Crocodile elbows by day 4. Color that looks great in the mirror on day 1 and off in photos by Thursday. That’s not a dry-skin problem. That’s a formulation problem. So we don’t charge extra to solve it. We never built a tan without solving it.

Hydration isn’t an upgrade here. It’s the standard.

Why hydration decides your fade

Spray tan color develops in the top layer of your skin. When that layer is hydrated, it sheds evenly, and even shedding is the whole secret to a pretty fade. When it’s dry, color grabs harder where skin is rough and lets go faster where it’s flaking. You can’t fix that with a drop at the end. You fix it in the base.

That’s why every Glow Haven tan is hydration-focused from the first step. Not a tier. Not a trigger word for an upcharge. The base.

Why one bottle can’t do this

Here’s the part nobody local explains. Professional spray tan solutions fall into a few formula families, and they do very different jobs:

Peptide luxury solutions: built skincare-first. Peptides, hyaluronic acid, squalane, aloe as the actual base. For dry, mature, or sensitive skin that needs the solution to hold moisture while the color develops.

Sweat-resistant solutions: a delivery ingredient that carries color deeper and more evenly into the skin, so it survives heat, humidity, workouts, and a 95-degree car ride home. The Florida-proof family.

Water-based workhorses: fast, reliable, antioxidant-rich, and the foundation most custom blending is built on. Violet, olive, and clear versions for undertone correction.

Clear and dye-free formulas: no guide color, no transfer. Brides. White outfits. Anyone who wants to leave with nothing to rinse off onto the sheets.

One brand can’t be all four. It can be very good at one and add drops to fake the rest. We carry multiple professional lines across all four families, because your skin on a wedding weekend in July is not your skin on a dry Tuesday in January, and the bottle should change when your skin does.

What that looks like in your consult

You don’t need to know any of this to book. You just need to answer three questions: what’s your skin doing right now, what are you tanning for, and when. We match from there.

Dry or mature skin that “doesn’t hold a tan anymore”: peptide base, hydration-focused application, oil after. Day 8 looks like day 2.

Gym every morning, beach every weekend: sweat-resistant formula. Your tan doesn’t come off on your towel.

Always pull orange: violet-corrected base. Violet cancels yellow and orange. That’s the whole trick, and it’s chemistry, not luck.

Bride in white: clear, transfer-free. Photo-ready under a flash.

Sensitive skin, first tan ever: gentle, low-DHA clear base, built up slowly. Nobody gets “medium.”

No upcharge for the match. The match is the service.

A note on “winter” tans

You’ll see heated spray tans advertised for the cold months. We’re in Florida. Your tan doesn’t need to survive a snowstorm. It needs to survive sweat, humidity, a pool, and the Tradition Publix parking lot in October. A warm room is nice. A formula that was built for this climate is the thing that actually matters. Hydration-focused. Custom-blended. Sweat-resistant. Florida-proof. That’s not a tagline. It’s the order of operations.

Who this is for

The 35-plus client who’s been told her skin “just doesn’t take a tan.” The snowbird who arrived pale and plans to stay five months. The bride who wants day 8 to look like day 2. The first-timer who’s nervous. Spray tans are for every body…when they’re done right.
